Release date: 4/2/10 *** Press Release ***The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), which operates the Municipal Railway (Muni), advises Muni customers about its on going Muni Metro faregate improvement project – “Making way for a better way to pay.” Over the course of the next eight months the SFMTA will be replacing all of the existing faregates, emergency and swing gates, as well as installing new ticket vending machines at all Muni Metro stations. Construction will take place at Montgomery Station (east) starting Monday, April 5 and last through Thursday, April 8. Please be aware of the potential for construction detours during construction. An accessible path of travel to access the station agent booths will be maintained by our construction contractors, and wayfinding signs will be posted directing customers along the route from the construction site to the booth/gate on the other end of the concourse.
