SFMTA to Make Metro Station Sign Upgrades

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), which oversees all surface transportation in the city, including the Municipal Railway (Muni), today unveiled the design for new Muni Metro platform display signs. The new design provides a larger, full color display for enhanced real-time passenger information.

“The SFMTA is committed to improving our customers’ experience and this is one more tool to help further that goal,” said Ed Reiskin, SFMTA Director of Transportation. “From larger screens to clearer, more colorful displays, we feel the new design is an improvement. The next step in the process is to ask our customers for any and all input before we make our final decisions.”
Muni representatives will also be available in metro stations to discuss the changes in person. Customers can also pick up a comment card at these locations and return it to any Muni agent booth. Please see schedule below for exact locations and times:
Countdown to the Shutdown
The Long Muni Rail Shutdown, May 25 to June 4, will impact the N Judah, the J Church, the 22 Fillmore and several other bus routes. Traffic detours as well as bike detours for the Wiggle, the Steiner/Sanchez route and the connector route between the Wiggle and Market Street will also be in place.
