MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY 14, 2008 MEETING (ACTION ITEM)

The Committee adopted the Minutes.

Members of the public may address ISCOTT members on matters that are within ISCOTT purview and are not on today’s agenda.

CONSENT CALENDAR (ACTION ITEMS)

All matters hereunder constitute a consent calendar, are considered to be routine by ISCOTT and will be acted upon by a single vote. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a member of the Committee or the public so requests, in which event the matter shall be removed from the Consent Calendar and considered as a separate item.

1. Northgate Avenue at Upland Drive - STOP Signs

SFMTA recommends installing a STOP sign on Northgate Avenue at Upland Drive Avenue, stopping the stem of this intersection.

2. 17th Street and Arkansas Street - Red Zone

SFMTA recommends holding a public hearing to consider establishing 20-foot red zones on all four corners of 17th Street at this intersection.

3. Beulah Street at Cole Street - STOP Signs

SFMTA recommends installing a STOP sign on Beulah Street at Cole Street, stopping the stem of this currently uncontrolled T-intersection.

4. 33rd Avenue and Escolta Way and Wawona Street - STOP Signs

SFMTA recommends installing a STOP sign on 33rd Avenue at Escolta Way and Wawona Street (the stem of this T-intersection), making this intersection an All‑Way STOP.

5. Ridgewood Avenue at Joost Avenue - STOP Signs

SFMTA recommends installing STOP signs on Ridgewood Avenue at Joost Avenue, making this intersection an all-way STOP.

2008 Black and White Ball

APPROVED with the following conditions:
a) The sponsor pays for the cost of SFPD as determined by Northern Station; and

b) The sponsor pays for the cost of PCO’s as determined by the MTA.

c) A permit is required from Caltrans for the event day closure of southbound Van Ness Avenue between Golden Gate Avenue and Grove Street; and

d) The sponsor pays for the cost of advance signing.

2. ISCOTT Meetings – Scope Change

SFMTA presents a proposal to redefine the jurisdiction of ISCOTT to the regulation of temporary use or occupancy of public streets. Review of other parking and traffic changes will be done by a separate staff advisory group which will consist of the current ISCOTT members with the exception of the Entertainment Commission and the Department of Public Health. These changes are expected to be implemented in March.

3. Golden Gate Avenue and Hyde Street, southwest corner, - Sidewalk Bulbout

MTA requests ISCOTT review of request to construct a six-foot wide corner bulb at the southwest corner of Golden Gate Avenue and Hyde Street.

APPROVED subject to field verification of feasibility.

4. McCoppin Street, west of Valencia Street - Street Vacation

DPW requests ISCOTT review of a proposed vacation of a portion of McCoppin Street between Valencia Street and the Central Freeway off-ramp.

APPROVED.

5. Folsom Street at 18th Street - Bus Zones

SFMTA recommends a public hearing to CONSIDER establishing a bus zone on Folsom Street, east side, from 18th Street to 100 feet southerly.

APPROVED.

6. 452 Clementina Street (between 5th and 6th Streets) - Pipe Barrier Permit

DPW presents an application for a sidewalk pipe barrier in front of 452Clementina Street (north side, mid-block).

APPROVED.
