Release date: Dec. 5, 2011 *** Press Release ***The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA), which oversees all surface transportation in the City, including the Municipal Railway (Muni), and the San Francisco Department of Planning will host two Environmental Impact Report (EIR) public scoping meetings this week on the Transit Effectiveness Project (TEP) to gather public comments on the scope of the environmental analysis in the TEP EIR. Other TEP outreach meetings will be scheduled early next year for those who wish provide more general comments on TEP proposals outside of the environmental review process. The TEP EIR meetings will be held on December 6 and 7. City staff will provide a short presentation on the TEP Program proposals as well as information on the environmental review process. Members of the public are encouraged to provide comments regarding the physical environmental effects of the TEP that need to be included in the EIR. For example, someone may suggest that the analysis address the potential effects of the TEP on traffic and circulation in a particular part of the city. All comments received will be recorded for consideration. Members of the public are not required to stay through the whole meeting. Once they have provided their comments, they are welcome to leave.
