Legislative Meetings

There are several legislative steps for bicycle facility implementation. A generalized series of meetings follows this approximate order: review by city departments and the Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC), environmental review, public hearing, followed by final Municipal Transportation Agency Board approval.

A description and links to public meetings are below:

San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) Public Hearing

There are two meetings per month on alternate Fridays. Separate meetings address general concerns and color curb requests.

Bicycle Advisory Committee Meeting

The Bicycle Advisory Committee (BAC) is appointed by and reports to the Board of Supervisors. The BAC generally meets on the fourth Thursday of each month. The SFMTA, along with several other City departments and agencies, regularly present materials and information to the BAC at their scheduled meetings.
