FOR PUBLIC HEARING

The Sustainable Streets Division of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency will hold a public hearing on Friday, December 7, 2012, at 10:00 AM, in Room 416 (Hearing Room 4), City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco, CA 94102, to consider the following proposals:

• RESCIND – TOW-AWAY NO STOPPING ANYTIME

California Street, north side, from 27 feet to 40 feet east of Pierce Street

• ESTABLISH – NO RIGHT TURN ON RED, EXCEPT BICYCLES

Westbound McCoppin Street at Valencia Street

Westbound 29th Street at San Jose Avenue

• ESTABLISH – TOW-AWAY, NO PARKING, 10 PM TO 6 AM, DAILY

25th Street, both sides, between Pennsylvania and 3rd streets

• ESTABLISH – STOP SIGNS

Stopping Division Street at Bryant Street, southernmost intersection, eastbound,
stopping the stem of this T-intersection

Stopping Alameda Street at Bryant Street, westbound, stopping the stem of this
T-intersection

• ESTABLISH – UNMETERED MOTORCYCLE PARKING

Washington Street, north side, from 10 feet to 18 feet west of Leavenworth Street
(8-foot zone for two spaces)

• ESTABLISH – RESIDENTIAL PERMIT PARKING AREA J, 2-HOUR PARKING,

7 AM TO 7 PM, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

Belvedere Street, 600 Block, both sides, between Carmel and 17th Streets

• ESTABLISH – RED ZONE

Howard Street, south side, from Sumner Street to 27 feet easterly (overlaps existing
10-foot red zone and eliminates parking meter #1169)

• ESTABLISH – RED ZONE

Buchanan Street, east side, from Marina Boulevard to 15 feet southerly

Marina Boulevard, south side, from Buchanan Street to 20 feet easterly

• ESTABLISH – RED ZONES

Berry Street, south side, from King Street to 23' westerly

Berry Street, south side, from easternmost crosswalk at King Street to 23' westerly

(removes meters #423 & #429)

10(a). ESTABLISH – TOW-AWAY, NO PARKING ANYTIME, EXCEPT NOON – 2 PM, WEDNESDAY

Carolina Street, west side of median, between 22nd and 23rd streets

10(b).  ESTABLISH – TOW-AWAY, NO PARKING ANYTIME, EXCEPT NOON – 2 PM, MONDAY

Carolina Street, east side of median, between 22nd and 23rd streets

• ESTABLISH – PASSENGER LOADING ZONE, 8 AM TO 9:30 AM, AND
  2 PM TO 3:30 PM, SCHOOLDAYS

           825 Shotwell Street, east side, from 222 feet to 372 feet south of 22nd Street (extends existing zone by 150 feet)

Items denoted with an asterisk (*) can be given final approval at the public hearing.  Otherwise, the SFMTA Board will make the final approval at a later date based on the outcome at the public hearing.

Categorically exempt from Environmental Review
Class 1(c)(9) changes in the traffic and parking regulations where such changes do not establish a higher speed limit or result in more than a negligible increase in the use of the street.

The following item was environmentally cleared by the Planning Department in an addendum to the Market and Octavia Neighborhood Plan EIR dated March 28, 2011, case #2003.0347E:

• ESTABLISH – SIDEWALK WIDENING (6-FOOT WIDE BULB)

Haight Street, north side, from Market Street to 57 feet westerly (portion of Haight Street within the Market/Gough/Haight intersection)

The purpose of traffic engineering hearings for the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) Sustainable Streets Division is for residents to express their concerns regarding the posted parking and traffic changes affecting their streets.At the hearing, the public hearing officer, after reviewing the items and listening to residents, will make a decision as to whether the items are approved or not.Any interested parties are encouraged to attend.

Opinions on these proposed changes may be filed in writing prior to the hearing by email (link to sustainable.streets@sfmta.com) with the subject line “Public Hearing.” Written opinions may also be transmitted to the Sustainable Streets Division via fax at 415.701.4737 or by mail: Engineering Public Hearing, Sustainable Streets Division, One South Van Ness Avenue, 7th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94103-5417. Submitted opinions will become part of the official public record and will be brought to the attention of the person(s) conducting the hearing.
