Director of Transportation Engineering – Sustainable Streets Division will hold a public hearing on Friday, March 18, 2011, at 10:00 AM, in Room 416 (Hearing Room 4), City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, San Francisco, CA  94102, to consider the following proposals:

ESTABLISH – NO PARKING VEHICLES OF SIX FEET OR MORE IN HEIGHT

Mendell Street, both sides, from Hudson to Galvez Avenue

ESTABLISH – TOW-AWAY, NO PARKING, 10 PM TO 6 AM, EVERYDAY

Mendell Street, both sides, between Fairfax and Galvez Avenues

Galvez Avenue, both sides, between Mendell and Newhall Streets

ESTABLISH – NO PARKING ANYTIME

Bayshore Boulevard, west side, from Blanken Avenue, 69 feet to 134 feet northerly (65 foot zone)

ESTABLISH – TOW-AWAY NO STOPPING ANYTIME

Bayshore Boulevard, west side, from Blanken Avenue, 59 feet to 69 feet northerly (10 foot zone)

EXTEND – RESIDENTIAL PERMIT PARKING AREA X, 8 AM TO 6 PM, 2-HOUR LIMIT, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

224 Mississippi Street, west side, from 125 feet to 100 feet south of Mariposa Street

ESTABLISH – YIELD SIGN

Masonic Avenue southbound frontage road, between Geary Blvd. and Anza Street

REVOKE – BLUE ZONE

250 Valencia Street, west side, from 117 feet to 139 feet south of Clinton Park (22-foot long)

ESTABLISH – PART-TIME PASSENGER LOADING ZONE, 7:30AM TO 8:30AM, 2PM TO 6PM, SCHOOL DAYS

Ocean Avenue, south side, from Lee Avenue to Harold Avenue

ESTABLISH – YELLOW METER ZONE, 30-MINUTE LIMIT, 8 AM TO 6 PM, MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

Ocean Avenue, south side, from 117 feet to 139 feet east of Lee Avenue

RE-OPEN – CROSSWALK

West crosswalk at the Intersection of Marina Street and Beach/Buchanan Streets, from island to NW corner

ESTABLISH – RESIDENTIAL PERMIT PARKING AREA S, 2-HOUR LIMIT, 8 AM TO 9 PM, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY

Divisadero Street, west side, between Haight and Page Streets (residential permit parking signage to be installed from Haight Street to 150 feet northerly, with parking meters on the remainder of the block; see below).

ESTABLISH – PARKING METER AREA 3, 2-HOUR LIMIT, 9 AM TO 6 PM, MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

Divisadero Street, west side, from Page Street to 125 feet southerly

Divisadero Street, east side, from Page Street to 50 feet southerly

Divisadero Street, east side, from 75 feet to 125 feet north of Haight Street


AREA-WIDE TRAFFIC CALMING

Silver Terrace neighborhood, bounded by Bayshore Boulevard, Silver Avenue, Palou Avenue, Williams Avenue and Phelps Street

Community-developed traffic calming proposals for local streets within the project area.

TRAFFIC CALMING – “HOME ZONE” PILOT

Minna, Natoma, 15th, Capp and Adair Streets within the area bounded by 14th Street, South Van Ness Avenue, 16th Street and Mission Street

Community-requested and developed traffic calming proposals to create a pilot “Home Zone” in this two square block area near the 16th Street BART Station.

Phase 1 Projects

Minna Street Phase 1:

  • a raised crosswalk across Minna at 14th Street\
  • a speed hump, mid-block on Minna Street
  • an edgeline painted on west side to narrow travel lane to 10 feet wide

Natoma Street Phase 1:

  • a raised crosswalk across Natoma at 14th Street
  •  a speed hump, mid-block on Natoma Street
  •  an edgeline painted on east side to narrow travel lane to 10 feet wide
    15th Street Phase 1:
  • a raised crosswalk across 15th Street at South Van Ness Avenue
  • Reduce 15th Street to one lane westbound with painted edgelines on both sides

Capp Street Phase 1:

  • a speed hump in front of the school yard
  • a raised crosswalk across Capp Street at 16th Street
  • edgelines painted on both sides to narrow the travel lanes to 10 feet in each direction

Adair Street Phase 1:

  • Raised crosswalk across Adair Street at Capp Street
  • Edgeline painted on north side to narrow travel lane to 10 feet

Phase 2 Projects

Minna and Natoma Streets Phase 2:

  • Raised crosswalks across Minna and Natoma Streets at intersections with 15th Street

15th Street Phase 2:

  • a raised crosswalk across 15th Street at the west side crosswalk at Capp Street
  • a raised crosswalk across 15th Street at Mission Street

Capp Street Phase 2:

  • A sidewalk bulb out in the area south of the school entrance; would be used for student loading and would increase visibility in and out of the school yard; will not provide cover for child dart-outs or covert adult activities, nor will it require maintenance or upkeep by school personnel; will be storm water permeable.

Adair Street Phase 2:

  • Raised crosswalk across Adair Street at South Van Ness Avenue

Phase 3 Projects

Minna, Natoma and Adair Streets Phase 3:

  • Sustainable permeable paving on Adair, Minna and Natoma Streets when each is    resurfaced, contingent on DPW approval and capacity.
