Julie Kirschbaum, manager, Service Planning reviewed proposed changes to the 37 Corbett route. PUBLIC COMMENT: John Mayle stated that the intersection of Masonic and Upper Terrace has problems with congestion, parking, delivery vehicles and the intersection has experienced numerous accidents. Adding the 37 Corbett adds fuel to the fire. Every 15 minutes, buses block traffic. This lasts until midnight. There is low ridership on the 37 Corbett and the buses are noisy. Mr. Mayle expressed appreciation for the SFMTA’s consideration of residents’ concerns. Bob Levy stated that the current situation is not reasonable. Buses are getting stuck and then the operators start honking their horns. The SFMTA needs to take into stakeholder’s issues into account. There is no room for an operator to drive a bus. Ridership is scant after 7 p.m. Mr. Levy suggested moving the line to Roosevelt which is a wide and not hilly street just one block away. 7. Discussion regarding the operation of the SFMTA Board of Directors/Parking Authority Commission.
No public comment. The Policy & Governance Committee recommended cancelling the March 16, July 20, August 17, October 5 and December 21 regular meetings.
