Updated January 16, 2008
The SFMTA and the Transit Effectiveness Project are conducting a trial of double deck buses. Thank you for your interest.
Planned Schedule for Double Deck Bus Pilot
We will run the double deck bus from a.m. peak to p.m. peak, Monday to Saturday, beginning Wednesday, Dec. 12 through Tues. Jan. 8: We will not operate the coach on Sundays.
We have dropped the 28L from this schedule because of tree clearance issues along Park Presidio Boulevard.
This schedule is subject to change.
For Muni accessibility information, please contact SFMTA Accessible Services at 415-701-4485 (TTY: 415-701-4730).
Press Release about the double decker bus trial
Fact sheet about the double decker bus trial
From the fact sheet:
Will the SFMTA charge fares while the bus is in service?
We will not charge customers; however; we are requesting that customers complete surveys.
Will the double deck bus be accessible to people with disabilities?
This vehicle was designed to meet ADA accessibility standards. It is a low-floor bus with an accessible ramp and two wheelchair securements on the lower level. The front seats on the lower level will be prioritized for seniors and people with disabilities. The upstairs is only accessible by stairwell.
Note: Muni vehicles stop only at existing marked Muni stops. Reroutes over streets not normally served by Muni will operate non-stop over those streets. Exceptions to this policy, if any, would be noted above as "temporary stop."
Note: All times shown on this page are for expected effects on Muni service, not for the event or activity itself. Events or activities may start or end earlier or later than the times shown. All times are subject to change based on actual conditions. Reroutes may be added, removed or changed, also based on actual conditions.
