SFTMA Board of Directors Adopts Amended Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2009-2010
On April 30 the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) Board of Directors adopted an Amended Fiscal Year 2009-2010 Operating Budget which begins July 1. The budget includes a range of actions, including fare and fee increases and service changes, to close a $129 million deficit and to submit a balanced budget to the Mayor and Board of Supervisors by May 1 as required by City Charter.
Some Muni transit fare increases, all parking meter and garage fee increases and taxi fee and permit increases will become effective July 1.

Changes to Muni bus and rail services will be implemented by mid-October.
On May 19th there will be a public hearing to add a $3 surcharge on the parking citations.
